Terms & Challenge Rules

Last updated: August 25, 2026

By registering for or participating in the Big Frank Challenge ("BFC," "the challenge"), you agree to these terms. The challenge is a memorial fitness fundraiser benefiting A Walk on Water, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Please read these carefully.

Short version: it's a friendly, honor-system fitness challenge. Move safely, log honestly, and know that you take part at your own risk.

1. Eligibility

Participants must be 18 or older. Registration is completed through our campaign on Givebutter and requires a registration fee (starting at $50), which supports A Walk on Water.

2. The challenge

The challenge runs October 1 to 31, 2026. The goal is to earn 100 points from physical activity during the month. Activities convert to points on a shared conversion table, and you log what you did each day on your personal scorecard. Reaching 100 points by October 31 makes you a "Finisher."

3. Honor system & fair play

Point logging runs on the honor system. You agree to log your activity truthfully. To keep the leaderboard fair for everyone, the organizers may review, correct, or remove entries, and may remove any participant for dishonest or abusive conduct. Organizer decisions on scoring and eligibility are final.

4. Finisher status and merchandise

Reaching 100 points makes you a Finisher. That's recognition, not a prize. Nothing is promised as a free finisher prize in 2026. Any Big Frank Challenge merchandise is sold separately through its own storefront and is purchased, not given away.

5. Fundraising & donations

Fundraising is optional. Registration fees and donations are processed by Givebutter and go to A Walk on Water. Because registration and merchandise may include goods or benefits of value, not every payment is fully tax-deductible; Givebutter and AWOW handle receipting. All sales and registration fees are final and non-refundable except at the organizers' discretion.

6. Assumption of risk & release

Physical activity carries inherent risks, including the risk of injury. You participate in the Big Frank Challenge entirely at your own risk. You should consult a physician before beginning any new exercise program. You are solely responsible for your own health, safety, and choice of activities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless the Big Frank Challenge, its organizers and volunteers, and A Walk on Water from any claims, injuries, damages, or losses arising out of your participation. The challenge is provided "as is," and we make no warranties about the website, scoreboard, or their availability.

7. Conduct

Be good to each other. Harassment, cheating, or misuse of the scoreboard or another participant's access link may result in removal without refund.

8. Your information

Your use of the website and scoreboard is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes & cancellation

We may update these terms or adjust, postpone, or cancel the challenge if circumstances require. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
